HUXLEY ALL WEATHER CHIPPING GREEN INSTALLED AT CHIGWELL GOLF CLUB

Huxley golf have been making high standard all weather greens for almost 20 years and are regarded as the leader in their field. They have helped clubs up and down the country with solving the common issue of a low maintenance/top quality practice facility for its membership. With their help, the Club have co-designed a synthetic practice chipping green to replace the existing area near our practice putting green. The area is designed to allow you to practice your chipping technique in all weathers and at anytime of the year, being a synthetic surface and stone sub-base, the green is designed to be played on all year round.  

Whilst the green is realistic in terms of how the ball will react when landing on the surface, I must stress that this is not the ‘20^th green’ of the course.

The green is approximately 45 feet by 20 feet and has 3 ‘chipping stations’ surrounding the surface that are designed to test the shots you may find yourself having to play on the course. The surface will actually run at approximately 8 feet on the stimp meter, which is equivalent to a winter green speed. Whilst not ideal to putt on in the summer months, it may well be the chosen alternative in the winter time, when the weather is at its worst!
