The PGA have always enjoyed a strong relationship with Chigwell Golf Club and in 2010 we were happy to return to this top quality venue.
The PGA East Region asked Chigwell Golf Club to host important regional qualifying events and a top quality pro-am for amateurs in the certain knowledge that Chigwell Golf Club will provide 5 star service to all visitors. Chigwell Golf Club upholds all the standards of play etiquette that the PGA wished to promote. Chigwell Golf Club is in the PGA East Region and some of the tour stars we see on television today, players such as Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter and BMW PGA Championship winner Simon Khan have gained experience and ability on the PGA East Region circuit. I note that Simon used to a Junior Member at Chigwell.
Without support given to us by top quality clubs such as Chigwell Golf Club we could not continue to host high profile events that attract such overwhelming support and are viewed on global television.
On behalf of the PGA East Region I look forward to our continuing strong links with Chigwell Golf Club and its members for many years to come.

I looked at most of clubs in area as I have friends at a number of local clubs. Ultimately a combination of location, the course and friendship connections made Chigwell first choice. It was important to me to play a course reasonably quickly and I was aware of some courses taking over 5 hours to play at weekends.
The membership process was a bit more formal and longer than I expected although I felt it was a good thing to see that a traditional members' club takes a diligent approach to selecting members.
I attended a supper evening in January 2011 (with my wife) was pleasantly surprised by the evening and members attitude. Much friendlier than expected and I felt a number of people went out of their way to come and introduce themselves, a very positive introduction tothe social scene.

I wanted to be able to play golf for the social side and for opportunities in business. I felt I was missing out on too many 'away days' at work and socials with friends, including weekends abroad.
I chose Chigwell Golf Club purely on recommendation by a member.
I have to say that Barry has been fantastic. He is everything I believe a coach should be. He is extremely patient, constantly pointing out the positives and when things go wrong, and they do often, he is quick to identify the fault to ge things back on track. He is extremely friendly, generouse in lending me clubs to take away and never short on advice for what to do in between lessons.
